Home treatment for dengue fever

Dengue fever, also commonly known as bone fracture fever, is a flu-like illness caused by the dengue virus. This happens when the Aedes mosquito with the virus bites a healthy person. The disease is mainly found in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), an estimated 500,000 people need to be hospitalized every year due to dengue. The highest number of dengue cases occur in the world's tropical regions, of which large populations are affected by the fever in parts of the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, Mexico, Africa, Central and South America. According to data released by the National Vector Borne Disease Control Program (NVBDCP) Directorate, 67,000 cases of dengue fever were reported in India as of 13 October 2019 this year

2)Due to dengue
Dengue is caused by four viruses, which are as follows - DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3 and DENV-4. When it bites an already infected person, the virus enters the mosquito's body. And the disease spreads when the mosquito bites a healthy person, and the virus spreads through the person's bloodstream.

Once a person recovers from dengue fever, he is immune to specific viruses, but not the other three types of viruses. If you are infected for the second, third or fourth time, there is an increased chance of developing severe dengue fever, also known as dengue hemorrhagic fever.

Symptoms of dengue
Typically, the symptoms of dengue fever are a common fever and cannot be easily identified in adolescents and children. Dengue has a fever of 104 degrees Fahrenheit, with at least two of these symptoms:

Headache
Pain in muscles, bones and joints
Getting nausea
Vomiting
Pain behind the eyes
Swelling of glands
Skin rash

3)Treatment of dengue
There is no specific treatment for dengue fever, as dengue is a virus. Timely care can help, depending on how severe the disease is. Following are some of the basic treatments for dengue fever:

Medications: Pain relieving drugs like Tylenol or Paracetamol are usually given to patients. IV drips are sometimes provided in case of severe dehydration.
Stay hydrated: This is important, as most of our body fluids degrade during vomiting and high fever. Constant intake of fluids ensures that the body will not easily dehydrate.
Cleanliness: Cleanliness is of utmost importance, even more so when you are not healthy. If the patient cannot take a regular bath then he can opt for a bath with a sponge. Add a few drops of disinfectant liquid, such as Dettol, to the water being used for bathing. It is also advisable to clean your hands before and after seeing the patient in the hospital with a hand sanitizer like Dettol. To get rid of clothes germs, disinfect the water used to wash the patient's clothes with Dettol.

4)Dengue prevention
Researchers are still working on finding a specific cure for dengue fever. Treatment of dengue fever involves the use of painkillers with acetaminophen tablets. Additionally, your doctor will advise you to drink plenty of fluids and rest. The best approach is prevention. Below are some activities that you can take to protect yourself from viruses:

Do not leave the skin open: Try to wear long pants and full-sleeved shirts to cover the surfaces of your skin and reduce the chance of mosquito bites. Dengue mosquitoes are highly active in the morning or evening, so try to avoid getting out at such times.
Mosquito repellent: Repellent with at least 10 percent concentration of diethyltoluamide (DEET) remains effective. If there is a long-term risk, then high concentration concentrations are needed. You can apply such cream daily to keep mosquitoes away.
Personal hygiene: When you are infected with a virus, you become extra sensitive to other diseases. Use Dettol Liquid Handwash, which works to keep germs out. This liquid soap will protect you from many disease causing germs.
Disinfect stagnant water: Aedes mosquito thrives in clean and stagnant water. Keep the water pot or tank covered at all times and if necessary use an appropriate disinfectant. To reduce the chances of developing a breeding base for mosquitoes, keep any utensils or accessories upside down that may collect water and clean the surfaces thoroughly.
